Peer Advising
Misha Zahedi is the pre-dental peer
advisor for the 2009-2010 school year. She
can answer most of your questions and
provide you with updated information on
dental school events that will take place at UC Davis.

Raise
Money for PDS Charities using Goodsearch!
Want to help
raise money for some of PDS's favorite
charities? All
you have to do is make a quick search!
Our club is now part of
GoodSearch. GoodSearch is a search
engine powered by Yahoo that
donates a certain percentage of each
search made to our organization.
Using it is free and easy and generates
the same results as other
search engines.
To use it go to:
http://www.goodsearch.com and below
the search
bar there is a gray box that says "Who
do you GoodSearch For?" Enter
our group in the box (Davis Predental
Society or pre dental society) and click
verify/enter. The box will now read in
Bold letters "University of California
Davis
- Pre Dental Society (Davis, CA)" and
beneath red letters will say
"Search now and money will go to your
designated cause." This
guarantees that our club will receive
credit for your searches. You
only need to do this part once,
GoodSearch will automatically remember
you for next time.
Make Good Search your home page or add
it as a Bookmark to your web
browser! The more legitimate searches
you make, the more money we can
generate for our organization. So
please, spread the word to others
and make Good Search your new search
engine :)
If 100 of our members average just 2
searches per day we can generate
$730 per year! We can then donate this
money to some of our favorite

Donate your Dental Stuff - Toothbrush
Drive!
It's that time of year
again....time for the t-shirt
design contest!!
We are looking for a
design to go on next year's club
t-shirt so if you're artistic, love PDS,
and have some good ideas for our
t-shirts, please come up with a
design and
submit it to the contest! We will be
voting for the winner at our LAST
GENERAL MEETING (email will be sent with
more details on that) so make sure you
attend that meeting so that you can help
us choose the winner!
Winner
will receive:
-
$35 in cash!!!
- Free T-shirt!
- Their
design
printed and worn all across campus!!
Rules
and Guidelines:
-
Do NOT use the
University seal or "Cal Aggie" logo
-
Design must contain the words
"PDS" and "Pre-Dental Society"
- Create a
logo/symbol to represent PDS (i.e.
Nike swoosh)
-
Design can be hand written or
computer generated
- Limit of THREE
design
submissions per person
- Final product be
in jpg. form
- Include: name,
address, phone number, on back of
design
- All work must be
original!
Designs due May
29th before 5 PM
Please submit designs
either in person or via email to me,

or in mailbox #277 on the 4th floor of
the MU. Please contact me if you have
any questions or concerns. Again, we
will vote for the winning
design at the
last meeting on Wednesday, June 3rd!
11/17/08:
Donate your Dental Stuff - Toothbrush
Drive!
PDS is
starting the Donate your
Dental Supplies
collection drive for toothbrushes,
toothpaste and floss in order to put on
community health fairs during the winter
and spring quarters. Starting
Wednesday, November 19th at Dr.
Hodges' Presentation, we will be
collecting donations of dental supplies
in exchange for raffle tickets. We will
draw a few winners each meeting until
the end of the year! For every 5
toothbrushes, toothpaste, or floss you
bring in, you will receive 1 raffle
ticket. (HINT: The DollarTree has
toothbrushes 10 for $1!) Also, there is
no limit as to how many items you
can bring in. Please help us reach our
ultimate goal of 2,000 items by
the end of the year! If we read our
goal, PDS will throw the entire club a
social event of YOUR CHOICE!
Your
donations are much appreciated!

AADSAS Application Instructions
For those
of you who are planning on applying for
Dental School in this upcoming cycle,
here is an AADSAS Application
Instruction guide provided by the
American Dental Education Association (ADEA).
The list can be found on this website
under "Resources."
The instruction guide may also be found:
here.
This instruction guide contains all of
the rules for submitting your
application, including how to send
transcripts, personal statement
instructions, updating coursework,
etc... It also has line by line
instruction of what you will be filling
out.
Although
the guide is for the current 2008 cycle,
there should not be many changes.

ADEA AADSAS Application Check List
For those
of you who are thinking about applying
for Dental School in the upcoming cycle,
here is an AADSAS Application Check List
sent out by the American Dental
Education Association (ADEA). The list
can be found on this website under
"Resources."
The check list may also be found:

The 2009 AADSAS Dental School
Application will open on May 15, 2008.
More information may be found on the
