Misha Zahedi is the pre-dental peer
advisor for the 2009-2010 school year. She
can answer most of your questions and
provide you with updated information on
dental school events that will take place at UC Davis.

5/18/10:
T-Shirt Design Contest!
Well the year is
almost over, and you all know what that
means! It's time for us to choose our
t-shirt design for next years' club t-shirt!
Every year we have a lot of really great
submissions so please keep that going! Here
are some of the RULES for what
needs to be on the t-shirt if you planning
to design one:
1) The shirt CANNOT use the university seal,
cal aggie logo, or contain the words "UC
Davis"
2) Design must contain the words "PDS" and
"Davis Pre-Dental Society
3) Only 3 design submissions per person
4) Final design must be in .jpg format
5) Include your name, email address and
phone number with your design
6) Work must be original
7) HAVE FUN!!
The person who creates the winning design
will receive $35, a free t-shirt, and
of course, the bragging rights that
come with having your design worn by
students in the club!! I know we have some
creative people out there so get out there
and design!
You can submit the designs in person, or by
email to me, Nellie Ghazal <nghazal@udavis.edu>
if you would like to submit in person, email
me to arrange a day and time to meet on
campus! All designs must be submitted by
Monday, May 24th. Thanks

Officer Election Sign Ups
So the time has
come to elect next years' club officers!!
Please join us THIS THURSDAY (5/13/2010)
at 6:30pm in Wellman 06 for the officer
election sign ups!! Please note this event
is only to sign up to run for a position.
There will be no voting at this meeting. For
those of you who are interested, all of the
current officers will be there to tell you
the responsibilities of their positions and
can also answer any questions you may have
about being an officer. Even if you do not
sign up to become an officer, attending the
meeting will still earn you ONE PDS POINT
towards the three required for active
membership! We will also have FREE PIZZA
so don't miss out!
If you cannot make it to this meeting and
you would like to sign up to run to become
an officer, please email me your first and
last name and the officer position you would
like to run for. I will also be sending out
a list of candidates after we have the
meeting so that you can see who is running
for each position.

UOP Tour
We have an
event coming up on Friday, May 21st
where we will be visiting the Arthur Dugoni
School of Dentistry at UOP in San Francisco!
This is a great opportunity for you to meet
dental students, the admissions director
(Kathy Candito) and have any questions about
DAT's, admissions and dental school in
general, answered! Below is the schedule for
the day:

Instructions for Day of Visit:
Because of the large number of attendees, please have your group
wait in Café Cagnone, which is located on
the 2nd floor.
We will arrange carpools once we have some
of you signed up for the tour. Please let us
know if you can drive and how many other
people you can take with you if possible!
The tour we had two years ago at UOP was
very informative and fun- plus they really
like students from UCD :) We look forward to
seeing you there!

Money for PDS Charities using Goodsearch!
Want to help
raise money for some of PDS's favorite
charities? All
you have to do is make a quick search!
Our club is now part of
GoodSearch. GoodSearch is a search
engine powered by Yahoo that
donates a certain percentage of each
search made to our organization.
Using it is free and easy and generates
the same results as other
search engines.
To use it go to:
http://www.goodsearch.com and below
the search
bar there is a gray box that says "Who
do you GoodSearch For?" Enter
our group in the box (Davis Predental
Society or pre dental society) and click
verify/enter. The box will now read in
Bold letters "University of California
Davis
- Pre Dental Society (Davis, CA)" and
beneath red letters will say
"Search now and money will go to your
designated cause." This
guarantees that our club will receive
credit for your searches. You
only need to do this part once,
GoodSearch will automatically remember
you for next time.
Make Good Search your home page or add
it as a Bookmark to your web
browser! The more legitimate searches
you make, the more money we can
generate for our organization. So
please, spread the word to others
